Nihonga japanese painting technique in action: a hortensia

Technical procedures

We start by preparing the pigments and the ink. Much importance is traditionally given to the skill in knowing how to handle colors and preparations. Then the flower is realized through spots of various shades.

We want to recreate the vibrant effect of the hortensia that takes on different nuances according to the type of soil in which it is located. After that, the leaves will be made with china and mineral pigments.
